Tessellation Group and Flexiv Form Strategic Partnership

Tessellation Group entered into a strategic partnership with Flexiv, a leading innovator in general-purpose intelligent robotics, in Shanghai on September 9. The partnership will advance the adoption of adaptive robotics in textile manufacturing, from initial validation to wider industrial applications.    

Tessellation Group brings decades of experience across the textile and apparel value chain, an integrated supply chain and large-scale manufacturing operations, along with a long-standing commitment to advancing automation and artificial intelligence (AI) across its businesses. Flexiv develops adaptive robots that combine industrial-grade force control, computer vision and AI, enabling them to move beyond fixed programming to sense their environment, adapt to change and handle complex tasks.  

Textile manufacturing presents a demanding environment for robotics, with flexible materials, frequent product changeovers and highly variable operations that fixed-program equipment struggles to accommodate. Through this partnership, the two parties aim to leverage Flexiv’s expertise in adaptive robotics with Tessellation Group’s extensive industry and manufacturing experience to validate and refine advanced robotics in a real-world production environment, and accelerate their application at scale across textile manufacturing.    

Looking ahead, the two companies will develop scalable solutions that can be replicated across the industry and extended to a broader range of light manufacturing applications.
